Heyoo! The first Kickstarter Campaign wasn't successful. A lot of great things were learned through August. I reassessed the approach and relaunched a Kickstarter for a single comic issue first, for Raven Nevermore #1, "Days of Yore". I figured this would allow me to reduce the Campaign Goal to something more attainable as a first go through the platform. Finding a printer in my province (Ontario) was also a HUGE win as it reduced the production costs pretty significantly. I left my job in December... not because I didn't ENJOY it. It was good work, good people. I worked remotely and mastered what I did and I did it well. But something came up in life so I took the opportunity to leave the job in the midst of a promotion to Editor. I decided that if I'm going to have a life challenge thrown at me, I might as well throw a challenge at my life. Start over. I worked in the technology sphere, content management primarily, did web development, watched over one of the largest online tech communities, kept the machine turning its gears... but deep down, I'm a "creative" guy not a "logical" one. So it's been a few months now but the comic book I finally got into motion, Raven Nevermore, is coming together! Thanks to DeviantArt I found myself an awesome artist to work with whose on pencils and inks; his name is Emmanuel Xerx Javier ~emmanuelxerxjavier (https://www.deviantart.com/emmanuelxerxjavier) The first draft of letters just came in and I'm awaiting the first review of the cover art... exciting times!!! I can't express how awesome DA has been for finding talent out there--I have found so many more people that I wish I could start projects with :)!!! If only I had enough time and money for it all!
